Alison Hitesman is a graduate of Dalhousie University with a degree in Physical Education and Coaching and Health Sciences. She has been a volleyball coach since I was 20 years old, starting with a Senior Boys High School team in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and later as an assistant coach at Dalhousie and coach of Senior Womens’ club teams.
As a player, Alison played on college and Provincial Women’s teams and Canada’s Masters winning, Silver 2 years in a row at the US Open Championships.
After moving to Victoria, British Columbia, she coached for a local club at all ages and both boys and girls, and has been involved at the Team BC level in training and selecting provincial athletes, followed by a four-year stint coaching the women's volleyball team at Camosun College in the BCCCA league and earning play off berths.
Both of Alison's children play elite volleyball for their clubs and school, with a son currently playing at the 17U and senior high school level.
