Cross-Country Skiing: Strength & Endurance

Cross-Country: Pronunciation: \?kro?s-?k?n-tr?, -?k?n-\
of or relating to racing or skiing over the countryside instead of over a track or run

Cross-country skiing is one of the most difficult endurance sports. This sport uses every major muscle group, therefore is one of the sports that burns the most calories.

Cross-country skiing takes a lot of hard work and practice. There are many youth ski leagues around the country, and, although this sport can be picked up at a later age, it is still good to start your children young because it will build up their speed, endurance, and muscle strength.

MomsTeam's goal is to provide comprehensive information on cross country skiing: advice on the equipment needed and how to buy it, a primer on the rules of the sport, and videos and advice from experts, parents, and manufacturers of cross country skiing gear.

But to do that we are going to need your help. If you are a parent of a child who does cross country skiing or has done cross country skiing, we hope you will share what you have learned with other MomsTeam parents. Please consider writing a blog, contributing an article, posting on and/or hosting a Forum, or becoming a cross country skiing expert. If you know of someone who used to play or coach cross country skiing who has knowledge to share, ask him or her to join. Together we can make MomsTeam a true community of sports parents!
