As a youth baseball coach for the last six years, I come to realize that there are a lot of myths about coaching. Here are my top five, along with a way to ensure that everyone had fun, not just during practices, but games as well.

Over thirty years ago, Little League Baseball was changed forever - a change that eventually would allow millions of girls to participate in the world's largest organized youth sports program.

To say that politics and favoritism are often involved in the selection of all-star teams in youth sports would be an understatement, but making the selection process fairer is easier said than done.

A baseball team puts nine players on the field on defense: a pitcher, catcher, four infielders, and three outfielders.

A regulation diamond has the following dimensions:
Batting Box: These are two squares on each side of home plate from which the player must stand to hit the ball. The pitcher may not throw the ball until the player is ready in the batting box.

Regardless of the age of your team, they will all play on a baseball diamond, which will be sized proportionally for the age of your team.

Each player should have a shirt or jersey, knee-length or longer pants, baseball socks / stirrups, shoes with rubber cleats, and a hat to shield the hot summer sun from their face and eyes.

Little League Baseball® and Little League Softball® require the use of safety-release or break-away bases, because a traditional stationary base, bolted to a metal post and sunk into the
ground, is a rigid obstacle for an athlete to encounter while sliding
and poses a clear safety hazard.
