Volleyball was created and first played in Holyoke, Massachusetts. It is now popular in Brazil, Europe, Russia, and several other countries. It is an Olympic team sport in which two teams of six players, separated by a large net, try to score points on the other team's court. Volleyball is played by children all over the world and has competitive boys and girls national teams.

Volleyball is the third-most popular sport for girls at the high school level, according to the 2007-08 NFHS Athletics Participation Survey, with 397,968 participants nationwide. The sport also ranks third in school sponsorship with 15,009 schools sponsoring the sport. In addition, 46,780 boys participate in volleyball at 2,006 schools.

MomsTeam's goal is to provide comprehensive information on volleyball: advice on the equipment needed and how to buy it, a primer on the rules of the sport, and videos and advice from experts, parents, and manufacturers of volleyball gear.
