William P. Meehan III, MD

Dr. William P. Meehan IIIWilliam P. Meehan III, MD, is Director of the  Micheli Center for Sports Injury Prevention at Boston Children's Hospital, and Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Harvard Medical School.

A graduate of Harvard Medical School, Dr. Meehan is board certified in pediatrics, pediatric emergency medicine and sports medicine. He conducts both clinical and scientific research in the area of concussive brain injury. His research has been funded by the National Institutes of Health, the National Football League, and the Center for the Integration of Medicine and Innovative Technology.

Dr. Meehan is the author of numerous medical and scientific and publications, and served as guest editor for the January 2011 edition of Clinics in Sports Medicine entitled, Concussion in Sports.

He is author of the critically acclaimed book Kids, Sports and Concussion: A Guide for Coaches and Parents, and is featured in Brooke de Lench and MomsTEAM's documentary, The Smartest Team: Making High School Football Safer, which is currently airing on PBS stations across the country.
