Rosemarie Scolaro Moser, Ph.D., ABN, ABPP-RP

Rosemarie Scolaro Moser, PhD

Dr. Moser is the Director of the Sports Concussion Center of New Jersey and the RSM Psychology Center,  MomsTeam.com's youth sports concussion neuropsychologist, and a member of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's Pediatric Mild Traumatic Brain Injury Panel. A licensed psychologist, certified school psychologist, and board certified neuropsychologist and rehabilitation psychologist, Dr. Moser received her PhD from the University of Pennsylvania where she also served on the faculty. 

She is a fellow of the National Academy of Neuropsychology and of the American Psychological Association, and a Diplomate of the American Board of Professional Neuropsychology and the American Board of Professional Psychology. Dr. Moser currently serves as an adjunct member of the faculty at Widener University, and as neuropsychological concussion consultant to both the Philadelphia Soul and the Trenton Steel Pro Arena Football teams.

She is a past president of the New Jersey Psychological Association and of the New Jersey Neuropsychological Society, the former Director of Research Programs for the International Brain Research Foundation, and past Treasurer of the National Academy of Neuropsychology. Dr. Moser's honors include the American Psychological Association Presidential Award for Advocacy in Psychology.

Dr. Moser is the lead author or co-author of a number of important research studies and commentaries on the topic of the validity of computerized neuropsychological testing in concussion management, including baseline testing of children and adolescents, the importance of cognitive rest after concussion, and a co-author of a recent peer-reviewed study on the lingering effects of multiple concussions. Since the mid-1990's, her research focus has been on youth concussion, with a particular emphasis on the enduring effects of concussion in youth athletes, the importance of cognitive rest, the validity of concussion testing, and on academic accommodations and transitioning the concussed youth athlete back to school. 

Dr. Moser worked with U.S. Rep. Bill Pascrell Jr. in his concussion initiatives, including the Youth Sports Concussion Act of 2013, a bill he is sponsoring which, if enacted, would ensure that new and reconditioned football helmets for high school and younger players meet safety standards that address concussion risk and the needs of youth athletes.
