Buying Baseball Shoes

Baseball cleats are specifically made for baseball and are required in most levels of the game. While there are many expensive cleats on the market, you can find ones that are as cheap as fifteen dollars at places such as Sports Authority and Dicks Sporting Goods.

When buying baseball cleats, remember:

• The best baseball cleats on the market provide outstanding traction, especially when sprinting (to prevent players from slipping!)

• Some of the additional features for cleats you might find include toe guards to resist abrasion, an external heel counter, reinforced medial support, and cooling technology that absorbs foot moisture.

• Baseball cleats have large studs on the bottom that grip the surface to allow players to maintain a steady run. These studs provide traction so players don't slide and can help players change direction quickly and smoothly.

When buying baseball cleats, remember that there are cheap ones but you must make sure it's a good shoe (it will prevent a lot of injuries later!) Sometimes it's worth it to invest in a little bit more expensive shoe.

Baseball is a slow-paced game that requires a great amount of skill, strength, and hand-eye coordination. Unlike other team sports, baseball has no clock, so the game continues until the last out is recorded (or, in the case of many youth baseball games, until it is too dark to see the ball!). (more)
