Asthma

I am a baseball coach for five years and am seeing a huge increase in the rate of asthma in the kids on my team. What concerns me is that not many people seem to care about the environmental impacts. We played next to a town hit by a large apt complex fire and the smoke lingered. The league forced us to play or forfeit. ironically, we had to forfeit because too many of our boys were wheezing and one of the parents-a nurse approached me and said- "let's not put the health of our kids at risk." If it were not for him I think I would have had too much presure on me. it worked out good this time but I am wondering,,and this is not meant to be crass but is there a way that kids with asthma can be speread thru out the league/ is this fair?

Extra Inhalers

i always ask the parents to let me have an extra inhaler for their kids to keep in my duffle bag. It is important to make sure they are in separate ziplocs with their name on the outside--in waterproof markers. Never let kids share unless it is a real emergency and always make sure their parents give the ok that they can use another kids puffer.

Sports Induced Asthma issue

This is a tough thing and the entire family-my twin boys seem to get asthma when it is hot and humid and they are excercising. This makes us very nervous and sad that they may not keep up with the other kids. Is there anyone who can give us some tips?

Smog.

Ozone and smog seem to be getting wortse and the outdoor sports camp is close to the RR tracks. The camp has said the kids are ok but I see some have to sit out for the entire camp.I am looking for someone to show me their camp policy on smog. Please let me know if your camp has such a policy. Thank you.

Also, any new articles on what the breathing issue in Bejing is all about?
